Final Fantasy VI - Day 25 (In which I make promises I don't keep)

So you remember that bird from last week? It led me to a place full of frightfully strong monsters. Not that I'm really complaining, but a sand worm beat me like a redheaded stepchild, and it's not something I really appreciated. Luckily, it had sneezed a couple people out of battle, so that did not end TOO badly for me. I still headed back and hit that asshole with Vanish/X-Zone just to prove my superiority to it though. I head into town and buy some new stuff, before talking to everyone. Some old woman shows me a bunch of places on the map, though I don't know what the purpose of that was. I find a room that seems to be packed with flowers, and there's a chick here, so I can only assume this is somehow relevant to what I'm supposed to be doing. Um... she hops a bit, talks to me, and then puts a letter on the desk. After reading it, Setzer flutters his girly eyelashes and says Cyan's name. I'm asked a yes or no question, so I answer yes... I... guess I should talk to the bird?

I do that, and it takes perhaps the most retarded route I've ever seen to get to another town on the same continent.

Romancing Saga 2: Sheng Long, Shenron, it's all Dragon God to me.

I don't think still photos can accurately convey the weirdness of this room. This bird is flying in a circle at supersonic speeds, and will not deviate from its path.

And that's why! The strange nozzle-looking thing shoots you across the chasm when you step onto it, and the bird is there, like most of the monsters in the game, to annoy you and slow you down.

Romancing Saga 2: Life after Wagnas

First thing that happens when we get back to Avalon in 1972 is that my adviser asks me for 300,000 Crowns. Out of 16 million? Yeah, I can spare it. Plus, we're up to Nineteen-Six a fight, so that's only about sixteen fights and it's paid off.

This is Ulysses. If I'd found out previously he was here, I forgot somewhere across the generations. Other than that, Avalon's still Avalon and I can't find anything new to do. So here we are: after Wagnas -- what?

Romancing Saga 2: Winning the War with Wagnas

So we've beaten down one mid-boss and found an awesome sword, so we just need to press on and find Wagnas and kill his ass so we can all go home. It's a pretty winding path, however, and I'm pretty well stuck in the middle of the place right now. A little further ahead we find a Vorpal Axe, but it's nothing compared to the Amethyst Axe Tirpitz uses now.

Romancing Saga 2: Castle Crashers

Yessir, that is definitely some type of sky castle. Zombies and skeletons everywhere, which doesn't surprise me much. But we're not here to fight them, so we just sip around them and collect the treasure they're guarding- 230K in Crowns -and get up to the next floor. The path we start on is pretty empty but I can see dogs in my future.

Oh, and narrow ledges with inescapable battles. There's literally no getting around it.

Romancing Saga 2: Castle in the Sky

Okay, we're going to take our pile of instruments to the top of Mount Chikapa and see if we've gotten enough of a band together to satisfy the conditions of the event. But... no. So what the hell do we do next?

What anyone would do after weeks of meandering trying to figure it out: WE LOOK IT THE HELL UP. Thank you, GameFAQs!

Final Fantasy VI - Day 24 (In which tentacles get personal with Edgar)

So we're on a new continent, I got some shopping done, and we're chasing after Palette Swap Edgar. Now that everyone's caught up, let's get this show on the road! I head out into a forest and find... more lettuce bunnies... Right. They cure me when I kill them. You read that right... their final attack is to cure their murderers... I almost feel bad. I don't have to go very far to find a cave, and after a stroll around the continent, I find that it and the town are the ONLY things here. Suck. On the amusing side though, since she's equipped with a Genji Glove, Celes is apparently using her swords as shields. Awesome. Why can't you use your claws like that Mash? You're slacking!
