Final Fantasy VI - Day 29 (In which we make Lucky charms, with blue tonberries and white kappas and dragon kings!)

Welcome back kiddies. When we last left out heroes, I had to teach everyone Curaga and Holy. Done and done. Moving on, I decide to check out Figaro Castle, since I KNOW there's a dungeon related to it somewhere and inside that dungeon is the answer to all my prayers... the Offering. Setzer + Offering + Fixed Dice = Death God. Setzer + Offering + Genji Glove + 2(Fixed Dice) = HOLY SHIT HE'S MURDERING ME OUT OF EXISTENCE AAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!! ... It's a math thing. Anyway, I round up Edgar, Celes, Gau and Mog, because they're the lowest levels, and head back to Figaro Castle in the search of this marvelous object.

Romancing Saga 2: International House of Dragons

Nope. Nothing I do seems to let me un-screw-up Cumberland. So let's try visiting the Amazons! This ought to go REAL well.

Actually, it looks like they're letting me in! I guess if your final ruler is male, they decide the hell with it and let you stroll on in.

Or the village is TOTALLY DESERTED. Wonder what I fucked up this time? But there's nothing else to do here. And I also still can't do anything about the rough waters outside Toba.

But here, south of Lake Wyringa, is something new. Let's go!

Romancing Saga 2: Do-overs and Deep Flail

Yup, this is bad. Asshole used Soul Steal on poor Renya and took ALL HIS LP. He's just gone, poor bastard. Good thing Lance has the countermove, but I wish I'd thought to give it to everybody. I've got to kill this guy before he wipes out my whole crew.

Which... I don't quite do. Anybody mind if I go put the Soul Steal counter on everybody and try again? I didn't think so.

Romancing Saga 2: Old Familiar Faces

The statues- plural -don't attack me on the way in this building, but I'm betting they will on the way out. The chests contained a weapon whose name translates (I think) to the Divine Spear of Longinus, and a mace with the much more katakana name Holy Buster. I should've named my hero Batman instead of Lance...

Huh! The angry elephant statues don't attack me, and I make it out of town fine. So where do I go now?

I think I know.

Romancing Saga 2: New Town, Old... Veil?

One cute thing I never noticed before? As with a lot of Squaresoft games, even stationary sprites walk in place, to keep things looking lively. The Royal Guards remain perfectly still. More to the point, we're kitted out now; Coppelia the Robot Maid has a spear because she's equally crappy in all weapons right now -15 each when the party record's something like 45 -and the spear is the strongest thing we've got. Though she does have some unarmed skills as well, including one I've never seen called Neko Damashii (Cat Soul). No clue there. But anyway, we're off to Chikapa!

Which, sadly, is still bemonstered.

Romancing Saga 2: Avalon, 2290 AD- The Final Generation

And now we're down to the end, ladies and gents. Here is Lance, the character I named at the beginning of the game. That was like five months ago now- woof.

No sooner does he inherit the skills of all his ancestry, but an adviser approaches and says something about Leon and Kujinshi.

And here is the fortune teller from the start of the game.

Final Fantasy VI - Day 28 (In which Cyan needs to lay off the hallucinogens)

Alright, so... What the hell am I doing? It's a question that has plagued me often here, so I think I'm going to go check out some places I haven't visited yet. You remember in that one town forever ago where I mentioned that woman showed me a bunch of other places? No? That's ok, I don't either. I know she showed me Narshe, which I visited, and somewhere else, but one of the places she showed me bore a striking resemblance to Doma, so maybe there's something there that needs stabbing. Doma ahoy! Where ever the shit it is...
